Scotian shelf (Eastern) - Geographic Area

The eastern Scotian Shelf is a broad (~200 km, 90 m average depth) continental shelf made up of a number of shallow offshore banks and inner basins. It extends from the Laurentian Channel in the northeast to a line from Halifax south to the shelf break in the southwest, has an area of approximately 100,000 km2.
